5th October 2004 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car park, Ynyslas Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 20-25 knots Surf / Sea State: 4 foot surf Air Temperature: 10ºC Sea Temperature: 14ºC Weather: Mainly Cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: A pretty mad session before work. Maxed out with the 5.7m and the sea was in a mean mood!! Getting out through the waves was difficult as the wave period was really short and the cross-shore wind meant I was blasting straight out through them. Jumping in the 'impact zone' meant either doing a small jump every couple of seconds which was a bit hectic, going for a slgihtly bigger jump meant landing on the whitewater of the next wave, and bigger jumps mean jumping the next wave, but losing momentum on landing and therefore getting trashed by the 3rd wave... And they were certainly in the mood to trash you. Solid four footers with steep mean faces that just wanted to get you. Out the back was much more fun with some big swells leading to some huge jumps. Coming in was fun too with logo high faces to ride every now and then... It was all a bit much first thing in the morning though. |
